Principal Functions (Major Areas of Responsibility):
Demonstrates proficiency in the routine operations and maintenance of building electrical systems as per Engineering standards. Participates in the installation, testing, commissioning and re-deployment of all building / site electrical systems. Provides routine supervision, guidance & support to Junior Technicians (as required).
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performs routine preventive maintenance work related to the installation, operation, trouble-shooting & maintenance of electrical systems/equipment/spares & supplies.
• Conducts routine site inspections of assigned electrical system, machinery as required.
• Coordinates closely with BMS personnel in order to identify maintenance needs & actions as appropriate
• Provides documentation/coordination support for the procurement, deployment & mobilization of electrical parts/aids for the provision of additional lights, electrical lines etc. as per requirement.
• Reads & interprets simple electrical blueprints & diagrams/sketches to ensure accuracy of trouble-shooting & repair jobs.
• Routinely checks & inspects all fire alarm systems
• Carries out routine activities related to alarm extension wiring
• Reports to immediate supervisor any unusual / extraordinary events such as breakdown of fire alarm/intruder systems or malfunction of fire extinguishers & related equipment
• Attends to call out duties as required in order to promptly address electrical faults or equipment/machinery/system (including fire alarm) breakdown.
• Supports junior staff in day-to-day tasks as required.
• Updates, maintains and ensures the accuracy of maintenance logs for assigned equipment or machinery.
• Interfaces effectively with other Engineering sections to ensure adequate cross- functional support for preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Maintains orderliness and cleanliness to ensure a clean, safe and accident-free work area.
• Arranges for the deployment of technicians in order to promptly attend to urgent complaints as per work orders & phone requests.
• Keeps abreast of new developments or demonstrates keenness in learning about the assigned field of specialization.
• Performs any other related duties as required.
