Principal Functions (Major Areas of Responsibility)
• Supervises
work activities related to maintenance of the various instrumentation
and automation system as per design specifications, technical standards
and scope of works
• Instrumentation Engineer develop skills in
specific control disciplines such as advanced process control (APC),
distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC),
and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA).
• Responsible
for designing, developing, installing, managing and/or maintaining
equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, PI
system, Chillers, Generators, other machineries and processes.
• Reports to the Project Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.
Supervises, evaluates and reports on the activities of all preventive
& corrective maintenance tasks related to instrumentation and
automation systems and ensures their performance in conformity with the
prescribed work methods, quality standards & safety guidelines.
2. Designing and developing new control systems
3. Testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems
4. Analysing data and presenting findings in written reports
5. Work collaboratively with Project Engineer, Plant Engineer, Operation Engineers, purchasers and other internal staff
6. Project management within cost and time constrained environments
7.
Understanding and ensuring compliance with the health and safety
regulations and quality standards of the country in which work is
undertaken
8. Provide advice and support for any upgrading works
9. Coordinate with contractor for the calibration of meters and sensors
10. Reads & interprets blueprints & diagrams/sketches to ensure accuracy of trouble-shooting & repair jobs
11. Updates, maintains, and ensures the accuracy of maintenance logs for assigned equipment or machinery
12. Supports technicians in day-to-day tasks as required
13.
Reports to immediate supervisor extraordinary events such as breakdown
of fire alarm/intruder systems or malfunction of fire extinguishers ,
air conditioning systems & related equipment
14. Performs any other related duties as required.
